The uncertainty of these current times has prompted us, at Rachel’s Light, to take this time to thank the community for all of your support. We have been and continue to operate purely on your donations. For those of you that are unfamiliar with us, we provide a loving home for women and children who are homeless and then walk with them on their journey back to independence. Those of us who have jobs to report to and homes to feel safe in have all recently been reminded of how fortunate we are. Take a minute to imagine facing these uncertain times of trying to keep your family healthy and teach your children when you don’t have a place to call home. Our hope is that with their daily needs met in a safe environment, our families will be better equipped to face their challenges.

You may have attended one of our fundraisers, have supported us through donations, prayed for us, or volunteered for us and we are so thankful for you. Please continue to share our needs with your friends and family. Prayers for our staff and guest’s safety and health are always welcome.

We are also feeling the weight of uncertainty right now. We have applied for grants, but so far, we have not been successful in receiving them. We had planned to hold fundraisers over the next couple months, but the likelihood of this happening is looking pretty slim. For those of you that are feeling compelled to help, and are able to give monetarily, we encourage you to give locally to our community. There are many people that are and will be utilizing resources in our community to make it through these trying times due to lack of a regular paycheck.

If you are moved to support our families, you can mail a donation to PO Box 118 Owatonna, MN 55060 or you can send money to us through PayPal. There is a link set up to donate on our website -  Click Here.

It is an honor to continue to work with our community to end homelessness. In the end, we know that the Lord is in control and we will continue to ask him for guidance on our journey and hope that you and your family are safe and healthy.
